Using Rainbows In Your Planning

“It takes sunshine and rain to make a rainbow. There would be no rainbows without sunshine and rain.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

As children one of the first things many of us start drawing and painting is rainbows. Rainbows, however, have more spiritual and religious meanings and appear as symbols in a number of mythologies (Celtic, Greek, and Norse), religions (Christianity, Buddhism), and also cultures (Native American, Japanese, and Chinese).

Rainbows bring the promise that the troubles of today will pass. They are a symbol of hope. Because let’s face it, life isn’t always easy.

They are symbols of promise, peace, equality, luck, new beginnings, and eternal life. All things that we need in these difficult times.

Using Rainbows In Your Planner Or Journal

I’ve created a set of rainbow-themed journaling cards.  To get yours all you need to do is sign up for my newsletter. Scroll to the bottom of this page to sign up.

Use your journal prompt cards to reflect on what you are grateful for. It will help you gain a new perspective of what is important to you and what you truly appreciate in your life.

Or, if you prefer stickers I have a selection of rainbow stickers in-store. You can share them and spread positivity with those in your life who need them. Or use them in your own planner or journal as a reminder to be more positive.

How Being Organised Can Help You Feel More Positive

Of course, we all feel more positive and in control when we are organised. Organising your day effectively doesn’t just help you get more out of it – it can reduce the productivity-sapping stress of jobs piling up. If we don’t control our working hours, it can be easy for boundaries to blur, work-life balance to suffer, and productivity to dive.

Get on top of your time management with these time management techniques.

  • Prioritize and schedule – Decide on the most important tasks on your to-do list and build your schedule around them. Build your deadlines into your productivity planner.
  • Learn to say no – We all need to set boundaries to keep a healthy work/life balance. And while it’s tempting to say yes to everything it just isn’t practical.
  • Start your day early – This is one I have struggled with! By starting your day early and away from looming deadlines, you can plan your time carefully without stressing over other tasks.
  • Be realistic – People can put themselves under needless stress to meet deadlines. The best planners know that problems can crop up at any time and things can take longer than expected. To stay focused on a task, you need to take regular breaks and switch off from your responsibilities.

Happy planning!
